UKA aquires majority stake in unlimited energy GmbH

The UKA Group has acquired a 51% stake in unlimited energy GmbH.

On 31 July 2019, UKA acquired the shares from the former managing partners of unlimited energy GmbH, Torsten Käsch and Volker Theilen. The remaining 49 per cent of the shares are still held by Stadtwerke München (SWM). Dr Kay Dahlke, Managing Director of UKA Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen GmbH & Co. KG in Meißen has been appointed as the new Managing Director from the UKA side and Jens-Patric Hirtz will be the new Managing Director from the SWM side.

unlimited energy GmbH develops wind energy projects in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg and Thuringia until they are ready for funding. The firm is also active as a commercial and technical plant operator via a subsidiary. In the past, photovoltaic projects have also been developed in Germany and wind energy projects, up to and including commissioning have been implemented.

"UKA and unlimited energy have already cooperated on projects in the past. With the direct stake in unlimited energy, we want to intensify the cooperation between the two companies and take advantage of synergies. With the investment, UKA extends the project development pipeline into the Federal states Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg and Thuringia with interesting projects", explains Dahlke.

unlimited energy will continue to operate on the market under its established brand, and its head office will remain in Berlin Schönefeld.
